Lady Gaga is comfortable in her own skin and isn’t afraid to show it on the cover for her album. She premiered the picture to the world in Times Square on Monday. Digital billboards displayed the cover art in 18 cities around the world. The image in Miami revealed piece by piece to show the complete artwork.
In the Jeff Koons designed artwork, Gaga is shown in a naked sculpture while she grabbed her breasts while covered by a Koons gazing ball. The background shows a collage of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus painting. “I’m nervous & excited to share something that’s such a piece of my heart. Something I cherish deeply. A real depiction of my mind through his,” tweeted the singer. “FULL ARTPOP ALBUM COVER. ‘One second I’m a Koons, then suddenly the Koons is me!’ #ApplauseJeffKoons.”
“Applause” is the lead single from the album and has been in the top ten spot of Billboard’s Hot 100 for weeks and reached over one million in digital sales. Gaga plans to release a special lyric video ARTPOP is due out on November 11 and features Gaga’s latest single “Applause”. Other tracks include “Manicure”, “Swine”, “Sex Dreams”, and “Jewels and Drugs” featuring Too $hort, T.I, and Twista.
